michael moore's documentary bowling for columbine

why does in michael moore's documentary bowling for columbine he say that people in canada do not lock their doors. people can come in and out and like do stuff in houses and leave??? how is that allowed?

He was pointing out a difference between Canada and the US. In the US, it seems like everyone is out to get eachother..in Canada they aren't afraid of eachother, which may make them a more unified country. There aren't as many burglaries in Canada, so they don't have to live in fear. Canada has the #1 living standard out of every country..so if the US wants to achieve that then we're going to have to stop killing eachother and stealing from eachother.

There is no law that says you HAVE to lock your door anywhere. And really, most people are good and don't want to come in their houses and such.

Furthermore, as Michael Moore stated, people in Canada do not live in fear like us. They aren't really scared of breaking in. Sure, it happens, but it doesn't phase them.
