fruit basket
gift certificate to resturant
books on something they enjoy
picture / decoration

It depends on how well you know them, their personality, what they like, what its for, etc. I would probably suggest something general. Maybe a card & a gift certificate to a nice restaurant or a store they like. If they have certain interests/hobbies, try getting them something that relates to it.
