Michele answered Tuesday August 28 2007, 9:05 am: Well I think you mean volunteer for a group, right? Then I would try the school newspaper. That group gets around, I mean they have too. Because they have to have news to write about. And guess what, you get to go to every event, because you have to write a story. Or get a photo, or just publish the newspaper. It is a great experience and will help you to gain more confidence. You'll learn real fast to be outgoing and funny. The language clubs are also a good choice, and the debate team, if they have one.
Sports groups are great, but hey what if you don't pass the test. I don't think there are any tests for the school newspaper, they just need volunteers. Then there is the prom committee, you can volunteer for that when that starts up. Later on, there is graduation, senior night, year book committee. But I am getting way ahead of myself.
Hope you find something that you like in my list.
Good luck to you
