I use hairspray & curling gell on my hair before i use my curling iron..and i have to, or else it doesn't work..but after a while, stuff builds up on the curling iron and it doesn't work as well..
LM answered Saturday August 25 2007, 1:44 pm: I've always used rubbing alcohol & a cotton ball or cotton swab. Sometimes you can scrape it off before the iron gets really hot with your fingernail or something similar. Even plain water on a paper towel works, depending on what's stuck to the iron.
