I think I have OCD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im not sure.. but I checked online, and its true! well i think its mild..like it only affects me in my house, but still. like usually I have to check the doors if they are locked in the night, because during the night I fear that like some robber or killer could come in or something. That behavior started a few weeks ago. and somethings that have been going on for a while are that when I turn off the stove, I have to check that I completely turned it off, so it wont cause a fire. Also, I have to make sure the lights are completely off or on.. I guess I think it will make a fire if its in between, when the lights flicker. And something that has started since 6th grade is that I have to look behind me and check that nothing menacing is there or something.. and when my mom or dad goes out, I want to go with them, because my mind thinks that nothing bad will happen if I'm with them. like my dad has to work in a different state for a while, till my family moves in with him next summer. he's coming to visit next week, but i always worry. i was like crying when he had to go.. and along with that I have to check behind me, I also do double takes. I used to be afraid of the dark a lot when I was younger and it has slowly gone away but a little bit of that is still there. when i was afraid, in the night I'd turn on all the lights so it wouldn't be that scary, since objects look scary in the dark sometimes. and if that couldn't be enough, sometimes at school I'd be anxious.. I'd hate it.. in 6th grade it was the worst cause there was this guy I liked but I was really shy around him, and whenever I was around him I'd feel really anxious. Also at other times.. It would take sometime for me to cool off.. like its hard for me sometimes when the class is too quiet. I'd rather it be lively and stuff, hence the anxiety. also during big tests.. i always think of other things, which is annoying sometimes. which is why gym is my favorite subject, because I've never been anxious in it since I'm really competitive, and I'm much more outgoing and fun then.. when I want to be like that all the time. Its only with friends who know me, and people I don't know that I can truely be myself. Like some kids I know, but not really know, find me shy and all that, when I'm not really like that. I guess my anxiety kicks in and I think that I cant just change.. cause they'll think I'm fake or something. sometimes I break through and I can be myself, but on other times its just tense and hard for me to do. okay what else.. sometimes I feel the need to breathe in deeply. I've been doing that for a while now. so yeah this is a lot, and maybe my "supposed OCD" isn't just mild, or maybe it is. I really dont want to go to a special doctor or anything, and my mom doesn't think I have OCD.. she thinks because I think I have OCD, that thought makes me believe it and then I have the disorder. plus I don't want to be a burden since therapists and doctors don't come cheap. so i want a way to stop these urges and everything.. like self help to myself. thanks a lot.. just know that what you write will change my life for the better. =]

That is definately NOT OCD even though im certainly no doctor, I know that, that is not ocd from health class and such. It sounds more like paranoia to me, which is also a mental disorder, so either way it is probably best to see a doctor.

You MAY have OCD, but nobody here is a doctor & can prescribe you with that. OCD can be a serious disorder, and most of the people on the site are teenagers, some being 13, some being 16 & older. It really ranges & varies, so nobody here can really tell you.


The sites online are not always accurate, so before you go & say "OMFG I HAVE OCD!" go to a doctor & make sure. Tell your parents you think you have it & want to make sure so they should take you to a psychologist.


And again, like I told someone else earlier today; the million+ exclamation points won't attract us to your question anymore than if you put one. Next time, use one because it's annoying to see 337560376503765037650365 of !'s.

i dont think its OCD because ocd is like checking and re checking a certain amount of times and over and over again. sounds like your just scared of burglars or being alone whih a lot of people are. you just have to learn that everythings ok. also the being yourself part has nothing to do with it. im the SAME way like a lot of people who im aquaintancces with are like oh shes shy she never talks, but with y friends im totally out there. and also if i meet someone for the first time i can also be totally out there and have fun. its just something around those other people that you think they will jdge you. but if they judge you then you just know that they arent worth your time. so just try your hardest to let loose and just start conversations. it will be hard at first but it will get easier. as for te OCD thing, if you really think its getting worse and isnt tolerable you should see a doctor. hope i helped
