14/F in NYC I recently moved to Manhattan and I am looking for a way to make extra money. I used to babysit but seeing as I now have like 400 neighbors I don't think that is as easy to find a family as it was, and plus my parents don't feel safe with me advertising on the building bulletin board in case some creeps live in the building. I was looking to see what age you can get a normal job at, and the state law is 14 as long as it isn't clerical, but I doubt any businesses would hire a 14 year old. Does anybody have any suggestions, especially those from other Manhattan teens? Thanks so much!

that's true though not a lot of businesses would hire a 14 years old, which i am also by the way but i live in queens, not manhattan. the problem with the city is that it is hard to find a job for teens. if there's a library around you check if you can get a job there. but the only library i can think of in the city is the on near bryant park so i'm not sure. another job you might be able to get is like at a restaurant as a busboy lol my friend is 16 and that's her job. hope i helped! ]
