i wanna get fit before school!

Question Posted Tuesday August 21 2007, 9:02 pm

I have school in exactly 16 days. I want a workout.. I've been slacking in exercising because I run outside (not a lot, but like 2-3 times a week) and its been really rainy and sucky lately, so I didn't wanna go out. If I can't run tomorrow, what are other fun workouts I can do for my arms, thighs, stomach, and butt? also, if this is possible, how can I exercise my calves? and other than that, like what foods should I be eating, how much candy/fatty foods should I eat regularly, and how many times a day, when in a day.. how much water should I drink (Usually I drink about 2-4 glasses a day, unless I'm doing a sport) and etc. by the way I'm a 13 year old girl... and THANKS for helping! =]

you sound like your doing pretty good. jump ropeing will tone your calves quickly. jump for 2 minutes take a break then another 2 minutes, everyday. thighs can be toned by laying on your back with your hands under your butt, raise your legs 6 inches off the ground for as long as you can. also regular sit ups and push ups will help your arms and abs a lot. for your butt, get in a position like when a guy asks someone to marry him, with one knee up. but keep your other knee slightly off the ground also. now jump and switch legs so the your in the same position on the opposite side. i am a kick boxer and these are some of the workouts we do daily. any questions just ask me.

im also a runner. i usally run a lot, 2 3 times a day. if you have a work-out ball that really helps your abs. and to do push ups help your arms and to to lunges forward will help your butt, uhm your calves i'd say running would make then tighter, hmm jus running crunches pushes and a ball should be you in perfect shape

Try belly dancing. It is fun and works just about everything. I think you can even find some videos online. If not, well, put on some music and fake it.
As for your calves, find a low step or curb and put your toes on it. Lower your heels to the lower level. Then stand on your toes. Repeat as desired.
Fatty food and candy should not be eaten regularly. As a small treat every few days is fine. Once a week is better. You should drink eight 8 ounce cups of water per day. Especially as an active young person.
You should be eating whole grains, proteins, fruits and veggies, and dairy. As for how much, at your age you should just eat as you need to. As long as you limit fats and sugars, you should be fine to eat when you are hungry. Instead of 3 big meals a day, try 5 or 6 smaller meals. Make sure you have a lot of variety. Having Cheerios for breakfast, a ham sandwich at lunch, and pizza for dinner every day will not be good for you. Try new foods, have as many different things throughout the week as you can, and you will be in great shape.
These things will keep you healthy and fit, no matter what your age.
