varicose vein

Question Posted Saturday August 18 2007, 10:38 am

I am only 15, f, and I have this big vein running up the back of my right leg that is pretty close to the surface of my skin. Someone noticed it the other day and then I asked my mom if she could tell and she said it looked like a varicose vein, but aren't only old people supposed to get that? So does this mean I am unhealthy or something?

Don't worry, I have this too. It's either from not exercising enough or it's hereditary.
