Okay, so there is a movie coming out the 22nd and there's a poster on their window about it. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the actor in it!
So if I asked do you think they would give it to me? Like, when they are done with it or something? What do they do with them?

They throw it away.
The good news is, if you walk in and see a poster you want, you could eventually have it.
The bad news is, they arent exactly going to tell you when they are going to take it down. When they take it down it goes in the trash.
Go to the store, ask to speak with a manager, and ask them about the poster. Its possible they might even let you have it then.

Staff probably do get first pick but it's worth an ask. The worst that could happen is they'll say no.
Where I go to rent movies, after they're finished with the posters they put them out and you can choose one to take with you for free if you want. I should imagine alot of places do this or will do it if you ask, if not they may put them up for sale.
Just ask them.

Yeah, most video rental stores and cinemas will give the posters away or throw them in the bin. It's definatly worth asking - although I should imagine that staff get the first pick.
