dress code

Question Posted Tuesday August 14 2007, 12:01 pm

Are spaggheti straps allowed in most high schools? I mean, the dress code is pretty standard for most public schools.
What happens if you break the dress code?

In my school spaghetti straps are not allowed because it will show your bra strap. The dress code might be the same-ish but the punishments may be different in my school you would get a detention and you would have to et a pair of clothes if not from your gym locker or a friend or something you would have to call home and have your parents bring some in for you! Thats just my school though.

No it's not but many people get away with it. Especially if you have a pretty face [as it seems, the male teachers rarely ever report a girl in for breaking the dress code.. from what I've seen] But yeah, you can get away with it, if you have long enough hair to put in front. Some teachers are more strict than others while some just give you a warning or take no notice. You are usually sent to the office to wear a sweater from the highschool or either wear your jacket [if you brought one or have it in your locker] or you PE shirt. If you continue to break them, you may get a refferal/detention. Depends on your school.

no, i think you have to have like a 2 or 3 inch shoulder on all your clothing, at least at my school. if you break dress code at my school, they make you call somebody at home to bring you clothes. if you can't find anything to wear (which most people can, because a lot of people have to change clothes for athletics and stuff and most people have extra clothes with them) then you have to either wear the clothing they have at the school (which would be like an old tshirt from goodwill) or you get detention or something. they don't let you go back to class wearing something out of dress code, they make you find something to wear. spaghetti straps are okay though if you wear like a v-neck or something over it.

We are not allowed to wear spaggheti straps at my school, we can wear tank tops if the straps are 2 inches wide. At my school, if you break the dress code you get a warning the first time and have to change your clothes. If you don't have anything to change into, you can call your parents to bring you something, but if they won't you have to sit in the Inschool Suspension Room for the rest of the day. Repeat offenders recieve Inschool Suspension.

Spaghetti straps aren't normally allowed in most high schools- but it really depends on your high school. Check your school's dress code or Code of Conduct or whatever. Ask a friend who has been there awhile [like an upperclassmen].

Usually if you break the dress code- they suspend you for at least 10 days. They call your parents and you automatically fail the class that you were caught breaking the dress code in. Alright- I hope you caught that that was a joke. They usually will just send you to the office to call your mom or dad to bring you a change of clothes. You won't get suspended unless you keep doing it..

No, at my high school we are not allowed to wear them (along with many other things). If you are caught wearing it (we don`t usually get caught) then you are asked to go home and change. If you are repeatedly caught wearing innappropriate clothing they may give you detention or call your parents. If you get caught for the first time, you can usually just say you didn`t know and they won`t hold it against you. Hopefully I helped!
