in bathrooms theres like an extra light switch but for turning on some fan thingy that blocks out bathroom noise.. what is that called? more bathrooms should install that

but i have the switch in a bathroom without a tub.. what does that mean.

Do you mean an extractor fan? As said below, it's designed for removing excess humidity from the room so the fact that it blocks some noise is just a side effect. In the UK all new houses now have these installed but a lot of the older ones also have them, thank goodness. :)

I know exactly what you mean. It controls a vent to basically get rid of the moisture in the bathroom, so after a hot shower the mirrors could be cleared without having to scrub them.
