tease your hair

Um..when people tease their hair (as in their own not to others) as in a motion or action, what is it or does that mean?

Like i'm sure they don't just makes jokes about their own hair..

When you're teasing your hair, you're just backcombing it. Instead of combing down like you usually do, you comb upwards toward your scalp. It makes your hair look bigger.

teased hair is when they use a comb to create more volume

or you could run your fingers into it and play around with the volume you make.

instead of combing downwards. you hold a piece of hair and comb it up towards the roots to create the lift.
