I will be 22 as a freshmen. Will I have trouble connecting with people 4 years younger than myself? I just have this feeling I will be the weird old dude that nobody hangs out with.

It's possible. It would depend on your maturity level, and if you had similar interests. There are clubs that you may have an interest in which would help. I have a friend who was 22 and a freshman last year. He moved off campus after one semester because he couldn't stand being around immature people. He made a alot of friends with upperclassmen, which suits his personality.
