When you're watching your weight, what kind of meals would be the best to have?? I love breakfast foods, so I've been doing cereal in the morning, oatmeal and orange juice at lunch, and eggs and toast for dinner. Is this okay to eat?? I don't put anything on my toast [whole wheat] and put very little butter in the egg pan. Is this too much?? too little?? Obviously I don't have it everyday. Maybe 3 times a week. Sometimes I'll have what my parents make but a smaller sized portion. Sometimes I'll make myself salad with tomatos and spritzer dressings. Am I on the right track?? Oh and also, I always get hungry around 8-9pm at night. What should I do?? Thanks!!
Additional info, added Wednesday August 1 2007, 1:10 pm: Also--what are you supposed to eat when you go out to a restaurant for dinner?? Or have to eat at a fast food place??. Because it has a lot of carbohydrates that you might not end up burning/use for energy before you go to bed. Salads and whole wheat breads are defiantly good for you. It seems like a little too little to eat during the day, maybe have little fruit (or other things that are good for you) snack a few times throughout the day.
If you are getting hungry later at night, when you wouldn't have a chance to use the energy gained from it up you should probably drink water. Lipton and Crystal Light both make good mixes to add to water if you are wanting something more then just water.
At a restaurant you could get a salad, it really depends on the restaurant you go to but if you aren't a vegan/vegetarian steak should be fine once in a while. If you're really concerned you could ask the waiter what the healthiest option would be for you.
