Should I let my sister's destructive children use our cabin?
My husband and I just bought a cabin and have been fixing it up so we and our grown children can use it. The other day my sister asked when she and her family can use our cabin. The problem is they have 2 children ages 9 and 11 who are undisciplined and rather destructive (they walk across beds rather than going around them, they play in the fireplace while it's burning, they even open windows and sit on the roof!). I told her we don't really rent it out and that we use it almost every weekend. She asked when we WON'T be using it! I told her maybe her husband and she can use it as a getaway sometime and left it at that. Should I just let them use it and hope they don't destroy the place?! Thanks.

I suggest talking to your sister about it. It's your cabin, and you've put all that hard work in to get it looking how you want. Just explain that your worried about it, tell her your concerns. She'll understand all the effort you've gone to to get the cabin fixed up and that you're worried her children might not respect that and treat it appropriately.
