ok, so i went to the doctor and she asked me if i had my period yet, and i said yes. so she told my mom that they were going to do bloodwork but i have to get it done somewhere else, so my mom said we would do it sometime next week. so my question is, for the bloodwork do they just like take some of your blood and thats it?oh and how much do they take?

Maybe give some free advice about: Health? ashleyyy45 answered Friday July 27 2007, 3:03 pm: for your situation their gonna take one vile which is only like and ounce! they tie a rubber band around your arm and it takes like 30 seconds. its a little tender after and will bruise but thats what should happen! just make sure you eat before and after your done get something with sugar to bring your blood sugar back up. i had about 5 ounces taken a couple months ago but didnt eat for two days straight and i blacked out. so as long as your eating healthy that day you should be fine. also refrain from working out that day after because your body is still trying to replenish the lost blood! you'll be fine, its not big deal. good luck! MW8305 answered Friday July 27 2007, 2:59 pm: Taking a blood test is no big deal. You'll go to a lab and they'll draw maybe 1-3 vials of blood (probably from your arm.) The vials aren't large, and the needle won't hurt. Just look away and think of something else. And then... That's it. After they take the blood they need you're free to go home.
