i have a friend in indiana
andi live in illinois
i have unlimited texting for verizon
to any company
if my friend doesnt have verizon
does it cost money cause its a different state
or does it cost the same even though its a different state

No- it doesn't cost any extra to send to someone from a different state, country or even world [haha- that last one is a joke, obviously]. What matters is what cell phone carrier they have. But, since you apparently have unlimited texts to any company- you're fine. However- I'm pretty sure that that plan doesn't exist with Verizon... I could be wrong- but you might want to recheck your text plan... because I'm pretty sure all plans have unlimited to Verizon, and only so many [whether it be 100, 500, 1,000 or whatever] out of network.

Just check to make sure.. I could be wrong.

It shouldn't cost you a dime because with cell phones you don't pay long distance or anything, and because you have unlimited to any company, you still don't pay anything even if your friend isn't on Verizon.
