Hi, this is from Milly203 (i've been asking about God)

Question Posted Wednesday July 25 2007, 12:41 am

If God made everyone...why don't we all just speak one language?
Like I don't just mean people, animals too, I mean they talk by barking right? So why can't we communicate with them like I can talk to my mom or something?
And
Why don't dogs, cats and other animals have spirits...why cant they go to heaven along with humans. Because if God made them you'd think he would want to be with his creations.

thanks so much

Milly203
ps. you don't know how much you've helped me so far!!!!!!
;p

Well, Hello again Milly203!

You asked, "Why don't we just speak one language?"
There was a time when everyone did:

Gen 11:1-8 says, "At first everyone spoke the same language, but after some of them moved from the east and settled in Babylonia, they said: Let's build a city with a tower that reaches to the sky! We'll use hard bricks and tar instead of stone and mortar. We'll become famous, and we won't be scattered all over the world. But when the LORD came down to look at the city and the tower, he said: These people are working together because they all speak the same language. This is just the beginning. Soon they will be able to do anything they want. Come on! Let's go down and confuse them by making them speak different languages--then they won't be able to understand each other. So the people had to stop building the city, because the LORD confused their language and scattered them all over the earth. That's how the city of Babel got its name."(CEV)

The people wanted to build a tower, not to please God, but because they were full of pride. The fact they wanted to use materials that THEY made (hard bricks and tar) instead of natural stone and mortar, and that they wanted fame instead of bringing glory to God, added to their arrogance. There is great power in unity, and when people are in unity over something bad, that power produces evil and not good. So God stopped their prideful efforts by causing them to speak different languages. They no longer could build the tower because they couldn't understand each other. Each found others that spoke their language and those groups scattered across the earth. That's how we have all the different ethnic groups still today.

Now, about animals...When kids are taught the lie in the public school that they evolved from a pool of slim over millions of years instead of being taught the truth that a loving God created them, it's hard to figure out why animals and humans aren't the same.

Animals do not have the same importance as humans. We have a responsibility to take care of the animals, but there are humans that try to give animals the same importance or even make them more important, but God doesn't. Humans are made in God's image. Animals are not. People have the ability to think through, reason things out, and make decisions. Animals go on instinct. Humans are God's companions. Animals are God's pets. Jesus died to save humans from hell, not to save creation.

The Bible says in Genesis 1:21 "...according to its kind." Each animal species (and I mean animals only) verbalizes it's own language. (dogs bark, cows moo, lions roar)

As far as humans communicating with animals...there is more to communicating than just words. There is tone and actions too. You can say something to an animal, but they use instinct alone to know if they are safe or if they are in danger or whatever. Or tone and actions may have nothing to do with it. An animal may attack out of hunger. But it's all instinct.
