should I be embarrassed?

Question Posted Monday July 23 2007, 10:35 pm

well, I've been seeing questions concerning online relationships here...and so I wanted to ask mine.

I'm 15/f and a lot of friends that I have, I have indeed, met online. Other than them, of course, I do have real friends. A couple good ones, actually. But for some reason, the people that I know from online, I can kind of relate to more, and it's fun chatting with them and stuff. Most of them I've known on and off for about a year now. I have about 10 of them. I met all of them through forums.
So, I was just wondering. Should I be ashamed of having so many online friends? Also - if we are very good friends and we both have intentions on meeting....what's the best way to go about meeting them? Like if I were to travel out of state with my parents. Where should we meet up? (I might only meet 4 or 3 of them for real). Because I know my dad would think it weird if we're in another state, and I come up to a weird stranger that he's never seen. Haha.

Thank you!

No I actually think its good you can relate and talk to these people well=] But the only thing is alot of people will stand you up or lie about there gender and/or age.so make sure an adult goes with you. Also talk to them on the fone so you can here them before you go. BEST OF LUCK!

No you shouldn't be ashamed. I have a few online friends as well. =)

Take one of your friends with you out of state [to be safe, people online CAN lie] and you guys could meet up with one of your online buddies at a mall, or movie theater. Suggest to you're parents that you'd like to go on a vacation for a couple days, ask if one of your friends can come.

I hope this helps you =)
