Why "Bleach"(anime)? What's with the name?

Why is the anime "Bleach" named the way it is? Couldn't they call it Ichigo or Soul Reaper or something related? Thanks in advance.

I think it may have to do with Ichigo's hair.Because it looks bleached....
Other than that,maybe it was made to be a random title.
