DangerNerd answered Tuesday July 17 2007, 1:37 pm: Hello there,
From the Specifications list of the Kodak C653 digital camera:
So, you don't NEED to buy one, because it has a small amount of memory built into the camera itself.
However, the Kodak C653 can take SIX megapixel images... which take up a LOT of memory.
So the question to ask yourself is this: Do you want to have to take your camera to your computer and empty it after taking 4, yes FOUR pictures at the highest quality settings?
What photo capacity do you need? In other words: How many pictures do you want to be able to store before you have to take some off?
I would go for the memory card.
If you look on the page you linked to, you will find this "Edge 2 GB Proshot 130X Speed Secure Digital (memory) Card" listed under "Accessories to buy"
You didn't ask about the battery life of a Kodak C653 digital camera... but I will tell you anyway. :-)
You are going to want the rechargeable battery set for this. It takes 2 AA batteries, and will go through them pretty fast. Heck, it is a 6 mega-pixel camera! :-)
Without the rechargeable batteries, your new C653 will cost you as much in batteries as the camera originally cost, and sooner than you think.
They have the Kodak rechargeable setup:
"Kodak Overnight Charger w/ 4 Pre-Charged NiMh AA Batteries"
