Does anyone know what is meant by the lyrics "shake your shimmy sister" in the song Miss Celie's Blues (sister) from The Color Purple the movie? Thanks!!

If you watch the movie, when Shug tells Celie to "shake your shimmy", she attempts to get her to move her body in a certain way (upper body) that shows confidence in who she is. Pretty much, shake what your mama gave you. If you got it, flaunt it. Show it off. Shake your shimmy.

There's no secret underlying meaning...it means when it sounds like it means. :)
