dark ring

first off, i know im not pregnant. i have a slightly darker ring around my areolas (skin surrounding the nipple). the rest of it is the normal color, it is just the outer edge that is darker. i am also on birth control. is something wrong with me or is it normal?

Could just be a side effect of the birth control....but to be honest i would take a prego test anyway...That is one of the first signs. I know a girl that was on it and she got pregnant twice. It also depends on your age.If you are worried about it type it in google i am sure something will pop up with an explanation.But I have never heard of any other reason than pregnancy.
