I really want to get a pet parakeet but my parents keep saying no. I have a dog so my parents tell me one animal is enough. I'm pretty responsible so i think i can care for the parakeet and care for our dog too. I would pay for the entire parakeet including the bird, food, cages, toys, etc.Any tips on how to convince them to let me get a parakeet?

I am a big beilver in not getting a pet unless you know what your getting into. Maybe email some Parakeet breeders asking information about them, Reading books and just researching them before getting one. Also if you research more it may show responsiabilty and convince them to get a bird.
If your parents dont think that a bird suits your life style, They dont. I mean you dont wnat to have a bird stuck in a cage its hole life just because you dnt no how to train it. If they say no to a bird ask them another pet that they would consider. [ Telly24555's advice column | Ask Telly24555 A Question ]

If you have a birthday coming up then it would be a great time to ask for one for your bday. You cant really pursuade parents to give you something once they've said no and continually asking them is just going to annoy them. Maybe give it a break for a while. Once you have enough money to buy all the things needed for your bird and you still want one, then try asking your parents if you can have one and say that you'll pay for everything (now that you have the money for it), you take care of your dog so you will be able to take care of your bird and its something you have wanted for ages and your not going to stop wanting it. Apart from being good behaved and taking full resposibility for your dog, theres nothing more you really can do.
