bumps on vagina

Question Posted Monday July 2 2007, 11:41 pm

There are bumps on my vag, usually about 5 or 6 at a time (not all clustered like cellulite). Some of them look like pimples that match my skin color, and there's usually one or two that have the texture and size of a mosquito bite. There's also this one bump that looks kind of like a scar. It's about an eigth of an inch long , is several shades darker than my skin color, and is surrounded by a VERY VERY thin yellow-whitish line. and these bumps sometimes itch.

additional info:
-i am a virgin, so no STIs..
-i masturbate on average four-five times a week, depends on where i am in my cycle
-14/f

what is it, and should i be worried/get help?

Well, it is indeed possible to get acne/pimples on your vagina, it sounds like some of it might be acne.
If you shave that area, it might be ingrown hairs or irritation.
Lastly, since you said you masturbated, it might be an infection, if you use your fingers, it is possible that your hands weren't clean, and if you use other items, it is possible that those items might have collected bacteria.
It could be an infection, and in that case you probably should get it checked out.

It could be razor burn. If you've ruled out that possibilty then you should talk to someone. A mom, friend, friends mom, etc. If they think it's something you should be worried about (and/or if it'sbeen going on for a while, not clearing up, etc) then you should see a doctor.

I reccomend the doctor the most if this isn't just a one time thing and/or if it's irritating you.

This is normal, if you shave. Do you shave your pubic area? If you don't you might want to go see a doctor about this. When you shave you get red itchy bumps. The more you shave trying to make them smoother, the more irritation occurs. They have beauty products to get rid of the bumps.
