So, I got my period yesterday (it's not my first one) and my periods last like 2 weeks and here's the problem. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to my neighbor's lake house for 6 days and 6 nights. My period will probably be going through the WHOLE time I'm there. The house is a little cottage and the only fun things to do are wakeboard & tube in the water. I haven't been able to wakeboard in 3 weeks because I've been busy and I was so excited and now I probably can't go. I'm thinking about wearing a pad on my bathing suit shorts and some crappy shorts from old navy over them & I'll wakeboard like that. I don't wear tampons, I'm not ready. Is there anything I can eat/do to make my period stop or go by quicker?! If not, what do I wear in the water while I'm tubing besides a tampon?? Ugh, this is such a lousy situation. Please help me. =]

(Although you can drink plenty of water, eat veggies and exercise to make it more comfortable.)
Tampons really would be the best bet (like it's not there!), but if you aren't ready for that, there are other options that are OK, too.
Pads come in all different shapes and sizes and thicknesses. Because pads tend to swell up in the water, pick up some ultra thins in the 'super' or 'long' size tonight. You'll be protected well enough because of the size, but the swelling up with water will be at least kept to a minimum because of the thin-ness.
Over top, get some cute, short board shorts, in either a dark color or black (in case of leaks!). You might even feel more comfortable in them!

The pad is made to absorb liquids, so if you put it in water it just gets all big and very uncomfortable, trust me on this one. It happened to me once and it was incredibly uncomfortable. Just don't wear anything and you should be pretty fine. Have fun and be safe =) [ vomski10's advice column | Ask vomski10 A Question ]

Your period stops in water, so really I wouldn't worry about it. I have the same problem but I usually only wear my bathing suit, jump in the water, and I'm fine. So don't worry.
