Well to play almost ANY Sims 2 games you need The Sims 2. They are EXTREMELY fun. My favorite is the Sims 2 Business because you can buy a whole mall and open stores in it. They're quite pricey but definitely worth it :)

I absolutley love The Sims. My sister and me had the orignal Sims, and purchased all the expanison packs and then we purchased The Sims 2 and all those expanison packs. I love it. Yes you need to purchase The Sims 2. And that cost about 40$. Then you can add on the other two. The game itself is very adictive. You created Sims (computer people) and then you can control there lives. It's like a controlling a person, you have to take care of there needs (hunger, bladder, sleep, ect.) There is fun things you can do with your Sims too. They can get a job and recieve promotions. They can date. Have children. Basically anything you want them to do they can do. It's also very fun because you can create homes, resurants. The expansion pack The Sims 2 University, is where you can send your Sims to college, and they can explore dorm life, partying. www.thesims2.com has information about all the expanison packs and the game itself. The game is extremely confusing at first, but once you play around on it for a while you get the hang of it. The down sides are that it is very adictive, and it takes a ton of space on your computer. If you have a computer that is older, or is slow I don't recomend getting it. Your computer has to be fast and have alot of free space, or else the game will glitch alot and be slow. But like I said it's my favorite computer game ever, and it's a blast. Good luck! :)

So basicly the sims is a human simulator. You sort of play the role of God. You can control what your sim eats, where it lives, how it interacts with other people, ect. Theres some stratagy to it, and you need to figure out things like how to make a sucessful family, make it to the top of the buiness world, or drive your sims into the dirt. All in all its a lot of fun, and personaly i love playing it whenever i get the chance.

In the game you do not have to stick to just one Sim you can live through a family, or even switch to another neighborhood. Following different story lines and sharing different fears and goals.

There are a few different expansion packs for the Sims2:
"University"- where you can send your sims to college, and ulimatly live out the college dream.
"Open For Buisness"- where you can open and run your own business from home or from another lot (this one is my favorite =])
"Bon Voyage"- take your sims on vacation
"Nightlife"- more of the dating scene and clubs ect.

I would check out www.sims2.com to get a better feal of it. Have Fun!

That's the official site for the game, it should have a list of the games on it.
I have the Sims and the Sims 2, as well as some expansion packs. I find the games to be a lot of fun. I think they're totally worth it. My cousin just an expansion pack for the game, Seasons, and LOVES that expansion pack.

In the game, you make a character look and dress as you want them to, you help them build an entire house, you help them get married and have kids, and you basically run the Sims lives. You name them and send them to work and school, deciding when they watch tv or swim and when they go to bed. I have the Pets expansion pack and it's a lot of fun. :]

They're worth it. I'm actually downloading the games onto my laptop now because I used to play them on my computer downstairs. :]

Also, all you need to play the games is the disks itself and the case. You need the original versions of the game before you can add any expansion packs.
