So, I guess I can read and comprehend them, but does it not list which finger you should use for each one listed or does it not matter? Also, when it says to play a "D" note...how can you tell which octave? I know, octave probably is not the right term, but you get what I'm trying to say...hopefully! Thanks!
the letters would represent which string to hit.
the number would represent which fret to put your other fingers on.
so this would go f string on the 12th fret, e string on the 15th fret and then d string on the 17th fret. get it?
hope i helped somewhat! [ katiekat's advice column | Ask katiekat A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Saturday June 23 2007, 4:42 pm: some tab books that you can buy do list the finger you could use, but that's really by preference. just use which fingers feel right to you. as for the d note, it should tell you... if not, listen to the song you're trying to play and see if you can tell by that. as you probably know, d is the third string, so maybe it means just to pluck that. i'm not sure. i've never seen anything that said to play a d note without telling what octave though. just take a guess, haha :) [ uisforukelele's advice column | Ask uisforukelele A Question ]
