talking with parents.

Question Posted Friday June 22 2007, 5:17 pm

17/f
okay so i've been together with my boyfriend for a little over a year and i have a huge problem. i still feel awkward talking to his parents. now i am not an outgoing person to begin with. i feel bad because he is outgoing, he is always talking to my parents or my brother and i just can never think of what to say to them. he says that his parents like me they just don't like that i don't talk to them, it's nothing personal towards them i'm just not very good with talking to adults in general. i need help!! thank you.

well just think of them as your parents and this might help or you just need to be around them more. its a natural feeling. don't feel bad about it. really if you just don't think about who you are talking to and just focus on what you are saying you might be able to talk to them.

hope i helped

Well, I have the same problem lol. Except my boyfriends parents dont speak good english ;) When you walk into the door, make sure you say Hello Mrs/Mr.Whoever, how are you today? Or something snazzy like that just to be polite lol. If the mom has a shirt/or pare a shoes just compliment them as well, or if the dad cut the grass tell him the lawn looks great. Good luckk ;)
