audiobooks and itunes

Help!! I need a book and for some reason it wont play. I downloaded an audiobook in itunes and it is two parts (two different files) but for some reason, only the second part will play. Whats wrong with it?

What kind of file is it? (By that I mean what is the extension file.xxx)

You can find out by opening the folder where the audiobook is stored, and if it doesn't say there, then right click and choose properties - it should say on the first page there.

Once you know that, somebody should be able to help you further.
