My father has a Mercedes Benz, and he was washing his car yesterday. Now, when he goes to turn his car on, it will not have a strong engine, then turn off. It was fine before he washed it. It isnt the battery, and the motor was new.
Any ideas what it could be?
Oh, and he hooked up a fan to blow under the hood of the car, and nothing happened.

got water into the intake unit. what happens when that happens is gasoline can't mix with air and the engine will run too rich and die on you. what you need to do is start it up and rev it hard to keep it running and don't let it die on you. eventually rhe water will be flushed from the intake and it'll run fine.
