On my iTunes, if you click on "File" at the top, there is a button you can click that says "Transfer Purchases from iPod".
I have never clicked on it, though. I am pretty sure that if you hook up your iPod to the computer and click on that button, the songs on the iPod will transfer to the iTunes library.
If you don't see that button under "File", then the iTunes that you have isn't the most recent version. Go to apple.com and download the newest version of iTunes. ]
well you can't actually do that straight from an ipod to a computer. there is a program somewhere on the internet that you can put on your ipod, and i know you can get that program at places like best buy, but ipods don't let you do that usually. i'm not really sure why apple does that, but they do.
syncing your ipod to your computer is updating it- that updates it from your computer with any new music on your computer to your ipod. ]
use the white usb wire to plug in your ipod to your computer. it should sync it for you, if it tells you to authorize the computer for your ipod, go up to the toolbar and select store. in the drop-down box authorize computer should be an option. then just follow the on-screen instructions and your good to go. :] ]
