I have a mac, and there are a lot of unwanted icons on the desktop that I have tried trashing and deleting several times. It always says that it is being used for another task. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
Additional info, added Wednesday June 6 2007, 1:22 pm: P.S., I am not very good with computers. Please explain your answers! I will not rate it if I don't understand it. Oh, also one correction. The alert says that the TRASH is being used for another task, even if it's been empty for days. I can throw away other things, just not these files.. if you are on OS X, just quit EVERY application (except finder and dashboard of course) and throw 'em away. if that doesn't work, you have one of the rare occurences of an OS X virus
xhoneylee answered Tuesday June 5 2007, 9:31 pm: you should go to set programs access and defaults or do a disk clean up then delete all of the unused files,
or go look at your c drive and do a search on whatever file you need to delete then delete that file first then you can delete the unwanted icon.
i hope i helped:D
