Infections (female) So i went to the Health Dept. Last week and they said I had BV. (Bacterial Vaginitis) I know that it is completely normal and can happen as easily as a yeast infection.
They told me it is not an STI so I dont understand why with the antibiotic Metronidazole it will not go away. I mean I still have a discharge and its been 1 week on the pills.
What could be the problem?
I have an appt tommorrow but I am expierencing some pain in my stomach.

There are a lot of antibiotics out there. Some work best for one thing and some another. They also come in different dosages. Doctors will err on the side of giving you a low dose.
It is possible you may have to take it a little longer or the doctor may give you something totally
different. It would be the same for any infection.
So don't worry about it. The diagnosis won't change,
but the antibiotic might. :) ]
Okay, its close to impossible to diagnose over the internet, so I could be totally wrong, but you could be "immune" to this antibiotic. I would definitely tell your doctor the pills are doing nothing for you, and most likely you will get a new antibiotic.
Get better soon!!
