what does goober means?

what does goober means? it has a a lot of definition and im confused it says warm-hearted but on the other hand it says stupid or retarded what does it really mean?

Well, this is just in my circles, I don't know about everyone, but it means a lovable dork.
Like, you like the person, but you're calling them dumb cuz they're acting like an idiot.
Example- Carrie asks why the sun comes up and goes down. We all laugh and say "Carrie, you're such a goober!"

Technically a goober is a peanut.

But when someone calls you a goober they most likely mean that you're being silly - and they're telling you in an affectionate manner.
