My best friend in high school was voted "best dressed" every year... and believe it or not, she was from a very poor family! Her secret: she bought tons of fashion magazines and cut out pictures of the looks she liked. She kept those pictures in her purse and whenever she went shopping, she pulled them out and put together whole outfits using them as a guide. But she hardly ever bought the exact brands that the magazines showed (which were ridiculously expensive), she just found cheaper things that looked exactly the same. And no one ever knew the difference, because she looked like she stepped right out of the magazine!
