1/2 New Years...lol.

Question Posted Saturday May 26 2007, 8:36 pm

okay, well me and my friend decided that we're making a new new year resolution for June (since its half-way through the year and we already messed up our last new years). basically, we want to eat healthier. my friend isn't that motivated into it, but i am.
i have had a heart/lung condition in the past and had to get surgery when i was 2. i've been overweight since i was 7. and i really want to loose 23lbs in order to be healthy. i'm 147lbs right now, and according to my diet book, i need to be around 125lbs to be "fit/healthy".

i need a food plan..bad. i also need tips on how to stop from cravings and overeating. i caught myself today from eating oatmeal that i didn't need.
my pool is re-opening if that helps for workouts. i also have a tredmill, and a nordick track (a ski-thing). And I have some weights (like curlups, handweights, barbell(?).
can you help me make a workout plan as well?

i'm 147lbs and 5'4. sorry if i already posted something about this..i just need the advice.

thanks :)

I can't really help with the workout plan; all I can tell you is that you are supposed to get one hour of excersise five days a week. Just do what you feel like doing, I guess, and get cardio, muscular, and all the other elements in there every week. I'm sorry I don't know more.

But for the eating, here's an idea. Everytime you crave a food, figure out what kind of food it is: salty, sweet, starch(pasta, cereal, etc). Then, have a small, healthy portion of that kind of food. So say you're craving potato chips. Instead of having a big handful of those, grab two or three small pretzels. Also, have a glass of water before you eat because it helps to fill you up, and then you won't overeat.
