Susie Salmon is raped and murdered in 1973 in a field where her neighbor, george harvey has set up this house like place. (like... a tree house.. but on the ground) she tells of her story and she tells of how she is now in heaven, watching down as her loved ones mourn her death and of her father's suspision of george.

It's such a good book! you should really read it if you haven't all ready.

i've never read the book, but an exposition is the setting. aka, time, place, initial characters, et cetera. basically, how the story starts out.
