Okay I am lost I've been told that semen is alive for half an hour to 4 hours.
But all over this site, people have said that semen dies ONCE it hits air?
What is true?
Back it up with reliable sources please & thanks.

Semen does not die as soon as it hits the air. It's kind of complicated to explain, but I will try.
See, sperm need to be kept cool, for them to stay alive, hence the scrotum being on the outside of the body where it is harder to keep warm. When the sperm reach room temperature or a little higher, they can die.
Ergo, a man's sperm can stay alive outside of the body even after it hits air, but it dies faster if he releases inside of you because the inside of your vagina is very warm.
That is why when a guy comes into a condom or a cup, and a woman puts some inside of herself, she can in fact get pregnant.
I have read articles about this on the internet and in a magazine once, but I'm not sure of where. I can try to find out where for you if you want me to.
Hope this helps! ]
