trying to be nice..becomes awkward Today at a school-sponsored activity, my friends and I saw a girl sitting alone. I went to talk to her to see if she was alone; she said she was waiting for someone. So I sat down and started chatting with her. I noticed that her eyes were pure blue, not sky blue, but REALLY blue, and I told her that they were beautiful (I'm kind of friendly).
About a minute later, a guy came up and she introduced him as her boyfriend. He is in my math class, but we don't talk. Basically I came up with an excuse to leave and went back to my friends.
She probably told him that I was flirting with her, and now my whole math class might find out, but I was only trying to befriend a lonely girl. How do I handle the situation?

First of all, I want to say that you are a really nice guy. Seriously. I wish the best of luck to you! lol. Anyway, if it happens, and people act like that, then act like you don't know what they're talking about. Like, be like, "Uh.. I talked to her, what's the big deal?" ]
Who cares what people think. If you know the truth, why does it matter? Just tell the truth if people ask you. ]
Honesty is the best policy. =]
Go up to the guy SOON and explain that to him. If you know his myspace/AIM then ask him on that if going up to him is too bold for your liking (although I dont think so, because you had the guts to go up to a lonely girl =]). He will understand and forgive you. If he doesn't, then he's a jerk. :) ]
