Question Posted Tuesday May 15 2007, 5:51 pm

i've checked out the symptoms of depression, and i have all the mental ones but one, which is thoughts of suicide.although i have though about death, but not like that. (i dont know the phisical ones of depression,if there are any) it all seems to fit, but the problem is, im really not exactly sad,i just feel compleatly emotionless. like, i feel no emotions. i wish i could just feel something, but its never there. so what do you think, would it make sence? i know you can't diagnose, but is it worth telling my mom and getting help? by the way, i'm 14 and female. thanks.

personally, i've felt like this. but listen, if you seriously do think you need help, then get it! but dont be too paranoid. i think depression is often just an excuse. so hang in for awhile, and if life doesnt start looking up, and you feel really lost, then get the help your looking for . do what you feel is right . it's hard, but try .

I have chronic depression and yea there are physical symptoms...like you are sore all the time and nothing seems worth doing. It sounds like depression to me, of course I was in denial for quite some time but yea it is worth it but there are "consequences". I got help and I see a therapist and psychiatrist the only problem is sometimes you don't always agree w/ their diagnosis. Also, parents can get weird about it and get really concerned and it can get very annoying! If you think you could get over it by yourself that is the way to go but if you think talking to someone and possibly taking antidepressants is the way to go...shoot. I hope this helps, Good Luck!
