dinner

Question Posted Saturday May 12 2007, 11:20 pm

Tonight my friend Jennifer had dinner with her brother, her sister-in-law, as well as her 2 nieces and her father at a
restaurant her brother, sister-in-law love. When Jennifer was driving her father home Jennifer said to her father in the
car: Dad did you like the place Carl and Susan took us to; Her father said; it was ok; Jennifer said; yeah I felt the
same way. And the portion of my food I ordered was huge; Any way her father said to her; yes your portion was huge,
but i dont think you liked what you ordered because you didnt really eat any of what was on your plate. Jennifer took
this to mean her father thought she should have eaten everything on her plate. She then said but dad it was a big
portion, and he replied: yes it was but you love vegetables and you hardly ate those so you probably did not like it.
ANY WAY Jennifer called me and told me what her father said and said to me: is my dad telling me I should have
eaten a lot on the plate or even everything; And I told her; no your father is not saying that all, your father does not
care how much you eat he just was just talking about if you liked the food or not; MY QUESTION: DO YOU
AGREE/CONCUR WITH ME?

A lot of it depends on what kind of person her father is and what type of person jenny is

if jenny is extremely thin, her father might be telling her to eat so she can gain some weight so she'll not be as thin.

Or, let's say jenny's father grew up on a farm or something. Most farmers hate to see food get wasted, so he might have told her to eat everything because he doesn't like food getting wasted. Anyways, my point is, there could be several reasons why jenny's father wanted her to eat everything.

But, there's also the possibility that he was just talking about whether she liked the food or not. It really doesn't matter that much, unless if Jenny has eating issues, then it might be about her dad caring about how much she ate.

Yes I agree with you. Her father wasn't implying that she should have eaten a lot on the plate, he was just saying he didnt think she liked it because she didn't eat a lot of it. Hope ive helped!!!
