major?

Question Posted Wednesday May 9 2007, 8:22 pm

I came down to the conclusion that I want to major in either public relations or biochemistry..COMPLETE opposites, i know. I was wondering if anyone knew the salary of occupations in these fields and like which one is more rewarding in the end..I am an OPEN person that LOVESSS to talk and interact with people..but I always love biochem..Also, what kinds of jobs can I get of I major in biochem? What about PR? Thanks!

I don't know much about either of those so you could probably disregard my advice.

From what I know though, even though you love to interact with people, public relations causes you to meet some pretty screwed up and rude people. Some of them you won't like and they'll treat you like crap. Unless you have an amazing public relations job, such as a spokesperson for some big company, the pay for a PR job isn't high.

Majoring in Biochemistry will probably be harder, from what it looks like, the government will probably give more grants for research in that field of science within the future so the salary thing should not be that much of an issue. Although I've done neither, I would believe that biochem would be more rewarding, that is if you accomplish something big, like discover how exactly the bonds between nucleotides in our DNA affect aging...or something like that.
