omg, girl, please do not be scared. TRRRRUST ME. tampons are seriously the best invention in the world. when i first tried, it hurt a little only cause i was popping my cherry. the second & third times shouldn't hurt if you did it right the first time.
you can't be scared just cause it hurt once. it's really not that bad... the only reason people say that it hurts is cause... a.) either they weren't putting it in correctly or b.) their cherry wasn't popped. tampons do not hurt if you do it correctly.
correctly meaning, you put it in farther than you think you need to (my fear was that i was putting it in too far & the string would get lost). when you stand up after putting it in, you should not feel it.
you have to trust me. pads suck DICK. they smell, you can't swim, they're noticable... i could go on for ages! tampons? you can swim, they don't smell, you can stick one in your pocket and run with it, you can wear thongs, easy clean-up much?!
SPREAD YOUR LEGS REALLY REALLY FAR the first time! playtex gentle glide is my life. it's so comfortable & i never feel it. ever!
if you're scared of tampons, you're gonna be scared of a penis when you're ready to have sex :] might as well pop your cherry now so you can enjoy sex when you're married.
Keosha answered Sunday May 6 2007, 4:00 pm: Always relax, and use a Playtex gentle glide. They are easy for the first time. Or tampax compact. Both are simple and compact clicks when its in and you can just push it up a little bit inside of you afterwards and then pull out the applicator. Its that easy.
Good luck.
Hope that i helped. ;p [ Keosha's advice column | Ask Keosha A Question ]

It might take a couple of trys to get it right your first time but if you just relax and do it right you will be fine. there are directions in the box if you need them.
