Are you sure it's not a testicle or some poop?

Willow says: Just the type of question I'm good at, You are going to want to have your vet take a look at your hamster, I've seen hamsters with tumors and the can be treated, just so long as it's not very big, I had the same problem with my pet rat, but me and one of the other vets (I work at a vets office) did surgry and now Mimzy is back and happy, so have your pet examined.

Well, if the bump has always been there, then it's probably normal -- I used to have a hamster and I don't remember a bump like that.

If it's a new thing, though, he could have something wrong with him. You should take him to the vet -- it could be expensive because hamsters are considered exotic animals, but it's worth it if you love your pet.

Some veterinarians will give you a consultation over the phone, if you just say something like, "I have a hamster and I can't afford to have him looked at unless a vet thinks something could be wrong with him; do you think this is normal?" That's what my vet did for my puppy, and he ended up telling me it was normal and I didn't have to bring her in (and I saved $60).
