Anorexia Okay I know that Anorexia is a mental disease. So what do doctors look for that makes them say that yo u have the disease. Like what are some of the things that they check for? Thanks

There are physical requierments you have to meet to be diagnosed as anorexic. If you fail to meet them but still have a screwed up eating habit, you'll get put in the category of EDNOS, (eating disorder not otherwise specified). When it comes to eating disroders, it doesn't really matter if you're an EDNOS or anorexic, they're just names.
Anyways, Anorexia is defined by several things. I can currently think of two.
you have to have a very low BMI, something around 17 or 16 I think.
You have to have lost your period(I have no idea how this would apply to guys)
Anorexics also have a very pale, almost gray apperance of skin. They also have thicker skin growing on their arms.(this isn't one of the definitions for being anorexic though, just a common trait) They'll also gain about a billion pounds from drinking a gallon of water because their metabolism is really screwed up. They'll also be depressed, be insecure, low self esteem, etc...(also a common trait) ]
they look for a major decrease in weight in a short period of time, they can't really tell any other way unless like you obsess over food or something. ]
