piercings

Question Posted Sunday April 29 2007, 4:28 pm

i was thinking about getting my lower area pierced i was wondering if your clit is the flabby part in between the lips? And if any one has it and if it hurts or not. And if after its done anything could go wrong like maybe an infection. And if you can go to the gyno with it? -- Thanks

No, your clit is just an area where the nerves are closer to the skin. Most women don't pierce the clitoris itself, but instead the clitoral hood -- if you don't know where that is, then I guess you should Google it... haha.

I had mine done for a while. Yes, it hurts. A LOT. It brought me to tears -- and keep in mind that I have multiple tattoos and piercings, and not one of them hurt that bad. But this one HURT.

Yes, there's a chance of infection. You also run the risk of not having an orgasm ever again.

Yes, you can go to the gynecologist.

honestly, if you dont even know what your clit is... then i really wouldnt suggest getting it pieced. thats kinda gross anyways. a lot of guys dont like that. fyi. in case that was the reason that you wanted to get it done. try a belly button piercing instead.

yes it can get infected. yes you can go to the gyno with it. i dont have one.. but it probably hurts around as much as it hurts to get your ears/bellybutton pierced because it is the same type of skin.

Please refer to the following diagram:

The clitoris is actually a place where the nerves are very close to the skin. The clitoral hood, or the skin surrounding the clitoris, is analogous to the foreskin of a penis. The clitoral hood is the part most people (well, most people who are women who want genital piercings) pierce. If you pierce just the hood, then it's just skin, like your ear lobes. If you were to pierce the clitoris itself, I'm sure it would hurt a lot more. Yes, there is risk of infection. And yes you can go to the gyno with it. They probably see a lot of them and it's against their professional code of conduct to say anything about them other than to make sure you know how to keep them clean, etc.

The bottom line is that it's your body and once you're 18, you're free to decorate it as you wish.
