Sabine answered Sunday April 29 2007, 4:20 pm: You take just plain warm water and either just clean fingers or a warm cloth. You spread apart your labia (vaginal lips) and clean in the folds. You pull back the clitoral hood and get any accumulated cells and discharge out of the folds. You always wipe from front to back, never back to front, in order to avoid infections. You may be able to get by with squirting some warm water inside your vagina, but it's not necessary. The vagina is self-cleaning internallly. Using any soap disturbs the naturally occurring bacteria of the tissue and can lead to irritation and infection. Douches and perfumes can irritate the tissues and make you very uncomfortable.
