windows media player cd burner

windows media player will not recognize my burner.
this happened once before and somebody responded
from advicenators...however, I did not write down the solution. I'm running Microsoft windows ep professional version 5.1.2600 service pac 2 on a relatively new gateway gt5028..Any solutions?

Additional info, added Sunday April 29 2007, 7:23 am:
MIstake with software...it's windows xp not ep..typo error.It's the media center edition2005
Computer has dvd + and -rw drive and a seperate
dvd drive.

Hey, I used to have problems with Windows burner so switched to Deepburner and haven't had any problems since :)
