i really want a belly button piercing, but my mom would never in a million years let me get one...so i'm letting my friend do it. she's done it before, she's using all the proper tools, sterilizing everything, and she knows what she's doing. so is that safe? and if i get it done, can i use the same cleaning product for whne you first get your ears pierced for your belly button? & if my belly button gets infected, will i ever have to go to the doctor and have my parents find out? and in general, i know it sounds like a stupid idea but it's not soooo bad i guess..i mean teenagers pierce their own body parts all the time sometimes. thank for reading this, bye!
christina answered Friday April 27 2007, 6:01 pm: I wouldn't advise it. Since summer is coming up, it's gonna get hot out & what is your mom gonna say when she sees you've got it done? She's probably gonna be like "wtf." So I advise you not to get it done.
But if you're witty & can think of something to say to her when she's flipping out, then yeah, you can use the same cleaner. Also, if it does get infected, you'll either have to take the piercing out, or go to the doctor. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
hollister_lover09 answered Friday April 27 2007, 6:00 pm: having your friend do it is a very bad idea, even if she has done it before. i would not do it!.. never!.. she could make the skin to small, not have it straight. just a bad idea.
no you can use the same thing for your ears. i would know.(11 done for my ears and my belly twice)
if it gets infected, depending on how bad it is, you might have to go to a doctor.
so in the end, i say try talking your mom into, get info. on it and let her read about it. DO NOT LET YOUR FRIEND DO IT!.. please dont..
TAYLROMARIEx3 answered Friday April 27 2007, 5:56 pm: i just got mine done and they told me that take like a shot glass or something and mix sea salt and warm water and hold it on your belly button for like 10 minutes. but make sure you get all the salt out after or you could also use any type of anti-bacterial soap. like dish soap. i've discovered that works the best. i've had mine for three weeks and no problems. but you really need to take good care of it to keep it from being infected. make sure you do NOT play with it. i've already made that mistake. and make sure the ring you put in after you pierce it, is just a plain barbell. don't use anything fancy for about 8 to 12 weeks. good luck!! and if you do all of this, you should be fine. as long as the needles are sterilized and she is positive she knows what shes doing. please be careful and i wish you the best of luck with it. as for your other questions, i'm not positive so i'd rather not give my opinion, sorry.let me know if you have any questions. my aim screen name is getupstaandup if you have any questions.
